Our work bond was established to encourage families to put in the small amount of time required to run our league. Work Bond is critical to the operation of our all-volunteer league.

During the season, most families work in various support roles, and opportunities which will be publicized on the website and Facebook.

Here’s how it works: First, you paid your bond for spring registration; Second, from the current Spring season through November/December of the same season, you sign up AND work your 4 hour shift and next year when you register you will receive a single use coupon code to remove the WB Fee from your shopping cart.

We keep a master list of who volunteers during the year so we can get registrations once complete.

FAQ's
What is the Work Bond?
A work bond is a bond paid to Bridgewater Baseball & Softball (BBSI) when your child enters the recreational Spring program. That charge is deposited and set aside but ultimately can be refunded in full when your child has finished playing Rec baseball or softball. However, many of our families donate their family’s bond to BBSI when they leave the league.

How much is the work bond?
The work bond is $150 per family and is charged and paid as part of the Spring registration. The charge is automatically assessed to first time registrants in Farm A, AA, Minors, Majors, Seniors, Pee Wee SB, Minors SB and Majors SB as well as to any family who has not fulfilled their bond from the previous year.

Does everyone pay the work bond?
Families with players only in the Pre K, K T-ball and Babe Ruth leagues are exempt from paying the work bond. All other Rec players pay the bond.

How often do I have to complete a work bond?
Work bond hours must be completed each and every Spring season your family registers to play. Unless your child is ONLY in Pre K T-Ball, T-Ball or Babe Ruth then you are not required to pay the work bond or fulfill a work bond activity.

I was a manager/coach in Pre K, K Tee Ball or Babe Ruth does that fulfill my hours?

No.  Since those three programs are exempt from work bond those hours do not qualify as work bond hours.

Does this cover Tournament players as well?
No, the Tournament program and the Rec program are separate. Tournament players pay a separate fee to participate. Volunteering in the Tournament/Travel programs does not fulfill your families Work Bond.

How do I satisfy the Work Bond requirements?
You can satisfy the WB by volunteering for any one of the following: Becoming a Board member, Recreation Team Manager or Coach (No more than 4 volunteers per team), working 4 continuous hours in Special events or functions – Opening Day, Closing Day, Uniform Sort or Distribution, Equipment Distribution / Collection, Hanging or Removing Sponsorship Banners, Clinics and Picture days to name a few.

What is the purpose of the work bond?
Bridgewater Baseball/Softball is a 100% volunteer organization, including the Board of Directors. The work bond encourages our families to volunteer to help keep costs as reasonable as possible and operate the Rec program. Your volunteer work hours help to maintain the level of excellence that we have achieved and maintained for years.

How do I get my work bond refund?
When your child leaves our program, with no plans for returning the following Spring and provided you or someone in your family has completed the FOUR (4) hours of work bond you may request a refund.  The refund may be requested for up to ONE (1) calendar year (January – December) from the last season your child registered for. For example, if your child played in the 2024 Spring season and decided not to return in the Spring of 2025 and you or a family member completed your volunteer hours, then you may request your work bond refund until December 31, 2025.  After ONE (1) year BBSI will consider your work bond a donation to the league.
